• Arliss Howard (Medium, Full Metal Jacket, The Lost World: Jurassic Park 2) has a new regular role as Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell in season six of True Blood, reports TVLine. The character is described as “a good ol’ boy politician who has a major beef with vampires ever since his wife ran off with one, leaving him as a single father to their only daughter. Politically savvy and perhaps overly ambitious, Truman tends to let his personal aspirations overshadow his humanity.”

• Summit Entertainment has snapped up the rights to an original alien invasion movie script by Olaf de Fleur (City State) called Revoc. [The Hollywood Reporter]

• Former Charmed star Rose McGowan has nabbed a guest role in Once Upon A Time, playing a younger version of Cora (evil Queen Regina’s mum). The older version (who’s been in the series a while now) is played by Barbara Hershey. [via Deadline]

Comic Book Movie has posted the first pic of Tom Hardy as Mad Max in Fury Road – a blurry, signed photo which is apparently kosher!
