Hugh Jackman Confirmed For X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Director Bryan Singer has confirmed that Hugh Jackman will be appearing as Wolverine in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Singer tweeted, “I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come…”

(We’re slightly worried that “more to come” might include Halle Berry, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that she washing her hair that month, or something.)

This means that Jackman/Wolverine continues his run of appearing in every X-Men movie so far.

He joins a cast that includes James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart (well, according to Singer, Stewart is in it, although Stewart claims he knows nothing about it… we guess there’s some frantic agent activity going on).

The film is based on a famous story from the ’80s X-Men comics which involves time travel, and a dystopian, mutant-hating future, so the mixing of casts from First Class and the original trilogy makes some kind of logic, though whether the original trilogy cast will be making full blown appearances or just cameos is yet to be confirmed.

The film is currently scheduled for a UK release on 18 July 2014.
