Tuesday Link-A-Mania

• Whoops! Okay, okay… glass houses and all that. Still, we’ll forgive IGN the slip because they did nab this very cool exclusive chat with two of the new actors in Star Trek Into Darkness

• Paramount’s long-in-gestation supernatural thriller Hellified (but not so long-in-gestation they’ve had time to come up with a better title) now has a new writer, according to The Hollywood Reporter: Predators scripter Michael Finch will be doing a rewrite on the treatment by Andy Burg. The film follows a team of criminals who travel to Hell itself to prevent the apocalypse. The project is currently without a director.

• Eddie Redmayne (Les Misérables) is in negotiations to star in Andy and Lana Wachowski’s Jupiter Ascending, reports Variety. Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis have already been confirmed. The film is about higher forms of life who are watching us from other worlds. Kunis will play a Russian immigrant who is busily scrubbing toilets for a living. Unbeknownst to her, she possesses the same genetic make-up as the Queen of the Universe (so presumably she plays her as well…?) and is therefore a threat to her otherwise immortal rule.

• Ricky Gervais is in talks to star in the sequel to The Muppets. Oh well…  [via The Hollywood Reporter]

• Jamie Foxx seems to be blabbing all over the place about his role as Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Having announced that he won’t be wearing the traditional green and yellow costume, he’s now gone on to reveal more about the character’s revamped role in the movie to MTV: “What you’ll see is that, for his whole life, no one is talking to him. People have stolen his ideas at the big company. He’s a nobody. At a certain point, Spider-Man bumps into him and says, ‘You’re my guy. You’re my ears and eyes on the street.’ Then he says his name, [Max] and no one has ever said [Max] Dillon’s name. He goes, ‘Wow’ and, when Spider-Man leaves, he sort of thinks that, ‘I am Spider-Man’s partner!’ He’s cutting out Spider-Man’s face and pasting it on all his boards… Everything goes bad with his mom. She doesn’t remember his birthday. He has something tragic happen and, when it turns on, he lights it up.” Erm… right.

• Samuel L Jackson has confirmed to Coming Soon that Nick Fury has a fairly hefty involvement in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, on a par with his presence in Iron Man 2.

• Here’s something to ruin your Christmas – the Smurfs 2 trailer.
