Skyfall International Box Office Hits $287 Million
James Bond continues his world domination as Skyfall takes a further $156 million worldwide on its second weekend of release.
Bond 23 has now made a total of $287 million in just 10 days, and it hasn’t even opened in the States yet. In Germany, where it just opened this weekend, it took $23.9M , an impressive 77% bigger than Quantum Of Solace’s debut in the country.
Here in Blighty the film dipped just 25% in its second weekend, adding another $25.7M for a 10-day total of $85.8M ( around £53.6 million). By Wednesday it should be the highest grossing film in the UK so far in 2012 (with only The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey capable of overtaking it, surely?).
We reckon that puts Skyfall currently in 14 place on the list of all-time box office earners in the UK, and it should break into the Top 10 imminently. But can it make number one? And all without the aid of 3D. Thank God.
Meanwhile, in North America, Disney retro-gaming-themed animation Wreck-It Ralph opened at number one this weekend with a decent $49.1M.
