• The Brian Singer-directed Jack The Giant Killer has had a slight name change to Jack The Giant Slayer (is that more PC or something?) and now will be released in the States on 1 March 2013 instead of the previously-announced 22 March. • Stephan Zlotescu’s acclaimed short film, True Skin (below) was clearly always intended as an audition tape for its creator, and it looks like the stunt has worked. According to The Hollywood Reporter Warner Bros has picked up the movie rights and attached Zlotescu to direct. True Skin is set in the not-too-distant future where augmentation is the way of life. For Kaye, still a natural, augmenting will help him keep pace in this now hyper-paced world. However, after acquiring an off-market prototype, Kaye quickly finds himself fighting not only for his own humanity, but something much larger…

• According to Deadline, author Dean Koontz’s radical reinterpretation of the Frankenstein story in his “Prodigal Son” book series is set to make the transition to TV. US cable channel TNT is currently developing the project.

• The Iron Man 3 Facebook page is promising to unveil a sneak preview of the film if it gets enough Likes. So go on. Do your bit. We did. (Incidentally, a similar site promising a trailer for Star Trek 2 went on line yesterday, promising a trailer in return for Likes, but that turned out to be fake; this one appears to be the real deal.)

Vulture has compiled a list of the individuals, shows and movie franchises with the most devoted fanbases (based primarily on Facebook and Twitter followers it seems), and guess what? Sci-fi and fantasy has a strong showing with Game Of Thrones topping the list.
