Stargate’s Amanda Tapping Cast In Supernatural

Stargate SG-1 and Sanctuary star Amanda Tapping has landed herself a recurring role in Supernatural season eight, reports TVLine.

Tapping will play Naomi, who is described by new showrunner Jeremy Carver as “cool and mysterious, part of a new group of angels we’ve never seen before.”

TVLine goes on to say that the original casting breakdown for Naomi called her a “no-nonsense bureaucrat” along the lines of Matt Damon in The Good Shepherd: “She wears a business suit and has her hair pulled back… However, Naomi is less together than she appears to be. Her efficient manner belies a deeper emotionality.”

Tapping will debut in the seventh episode, “A Little Slice of Kevin.”
