UPDATED: Neil Gaiman Writing Another Doctor Who

Could Neil Gaiman be writing another Doctor Who story? He certainly seemed to hint as much during his acceptance speech at the Hugo Awards last night, where he won Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form) for Doctor Who’s “The Doctor’s Wife”.
“…Only a fool or a mad man would try to do it again… so I’m on the third draft,” he announced.

Which could be construed as a gag, but, according to Twitterer @commish24, there was, “Much applause!” Which, if Gaiman was joking, you’d think he might have clarified there and then. Or maybe not. It’s difficult to know the context without actually seeing the speech itself.

UPDATED: IO9 caught up with Neil Giaman at the after awards party where he cofirmed the story to them. He said that the episode was currently planned to fit into the second half of series 7, but that may very well change (after all, he points out, “The Doctor’s Wife” moved from series five to six).
