As we speculated a while back (fairly accurately as it turns out), with Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit now being made into a trilogy, there has been some shuffling around of the films’ titles.
Warners has announced that film three will now be called The Hobbit: There and Back Again, the name that had had formerly been given to the second film.
The second film will now be called The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
Warners has also confirmed a worldwide release date for the third film: 18 July 2014.
And just to recap:
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is released on 14 December 2012.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released on 13 December 2013.
The Hobbit: There And Back Again is released on 18 July 2014.
