Have Thor 2 Location Secrets Been Revealed?
Coming Soon has uncovered a bit of a scoop regarding Thor sequel, The Dark World. Admittedly it’s a bit of a case of putting two and two together, but looking at the evidence the site has posted, were pretty sure they’re making four.
The evidence takes the form of a letter sent from the production office of a film being referred to as “Thursday Mourning” that was sent to residents around the Bourne Wood area in Surrey to let them know that they will be filming nearby in August and September.
Here are some of letter’s more interesting passages.
“Thursday Mourning is the working title of a major feature film. It is comic book adaptation set in another ‘fictional realm’.
“We will be establishing a fictional village set in another realm, with yurts and village like dressing in the bowl. The sequence involves a battle between two kingdoms, ending in our comic book hero arriving to save the day. The sequence will involve a substantial amount of stunts and controlled special effects all within the hours 0700 – 1900hrs.
“We plan to use most of the areas that are usually occupied by film units for all our support vehicles. The sequence will involve approximately 300 extras who will arrive in the early hours prior to call time to go through costume and makeup.”
Sounds like Thor to us. Thursday is, of course, named after Thor. Wonder who he’s mourning?
Bourne Wood has been a location for many films (and quite a few film battles) including Gladiator. Interestingly, Captain America: The First Avenger filmed there too. Could it become Marvel Movies’ equivalent of Doctor Who’s gravel pits?
Thor: The Dark World, directed by Game Of Thrones’ Alan Taylor, is set for release in November 2013.
