Jackie Earle Haley Cast In RoboCop

Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorchach in Watchmen, and Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare On Elm Street remake, has joined the cast of RoboCop remake, reports Deadline.

Haley, who was also recently seen (though not by many if the box office was anything to go by) in Dark Shadows, will play Maddox, the military officer responsible for training the cyborg Alex Murphy after his extreme pimping session.

He joins a cast that includes Joel Kinnaman (as Murphy/RoboCop), Gary Oldman, Samuel L Jackson and Hugh Laurie. The film is being directed by Jose Padilha, and is set for release in the UK on 9 August 2013.
