Damon Lindelof Dishes Up The Leftovers For TV

Lost co-showrunner Damon Lindelof has announced his first TV project under the new deal he signed with Warner Bros. He is developing an adaptation of Tom Perrotta’s 2011 book The Leftovers, about life for those left behind after the Rapture, reports Deadline.

Lindelof is co-writing the pilot with Perotta, and both will executive produce. If the pilot goes to a series, Lindelof will be showrunner.

For the non-theologically-minded of you, the Rapture is roughly equivalent to judgment day, when Jesus returns to remove all Christians from the Earth, to protect them, and the rest of us are left behind to face God’s judgement, during a period called the Tribulation. It probably involves The Jeremy Kyle Show.
