Merlin Mystery Solved
Merlin fans may recall that last week we noted some mysterious pictures being tweeted by the official Merlin account, and wondered what on Earth they could relate to. Well, now the cat has been released from the bag (aw, poor kitty): it’s all about an online game.

The work of Bossa Studios, Merlin: The Game will launch properly this Autumn to tie-in with the show’s return to our screens, but before then a closed beta trial will launch at Comic-Con (12-15 July); you can sign up now at www.merlingame.com.
Here’s the spiel, from Imre Jele, creator in chief at Bossa Studios: “We have carefully crafted the game to capture the very essence of the world’s most famous sorcerer. Players can explore magical lands while adventuring alongside trusty allies in the Crystal Cave, knocking out ferocious Wilddeoren rats or uniting with one of their favourite characters like Merlin or Arthur.”
Speaking of Merlin and Arthur, there’s no word as yet on whether there’ll be a faintly homo-erotic element that encourages slash fiction. But we certainly hope so.
Here’s a couple of sketches:
