The sequel to what SFX voted the best sci-fi or fantasy film of 2011, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, now has an official name and a release date.

20th Century Fox has announced that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, once again directed by Rupert Wyatt, will be released on Memorial Day  2014 (translated into English, that’s 23 May 2014).

Scott Z Burns (Contagion), Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa are providing the screenplay. Andy Sirkis will return to provide a motion capture performance that’ll be ignored at the Oscars.
