Chronicle: The Stars Speak & Blu-Ray Extra Feature Footage

Chronicle has been one of the big surprises of the year, and a pleasant one two. From first time director Josh Trank and writer Max Landis (son of John) it was a low-budget film a bout three slacker teens who gain superpowers that became an unlikely box office sensation.
Actually, as anyone who’s seen it will know, its success wasn’t that unlikely – because Chronicle is really very good indeed (here’s our review). Any worries that it was a late entry into the found footage genre were swept away by a dark but witty script, characters that you cared about with real problems, and a superpowered smackdown ending that may not have had the budget of The Avengers but was just as brilliant in its own down and dirty way.
And now the film is out on DVD and Blu-ray, and the Blu-ray features some extra special treats. In addition to delivering the highest possible picture and audio presentation the Chronicle Extended Edition Blu-ray exclusively offers both the theatrical version and the extended cut – with all new footage not seen in cinemas. Special features include an additional deleted scene of the most revealing footage you’ve never seen: pre-viz material that is the actual concept footage of the film’s most exciting sequences (see below); and camera tests of pre-production test scenes using different actors from those cast in the film.
To whet your appetite we also have the above exclusive-to-SFX interview with two of the film’s stars, Alex Russell (Matt) and Michael B Jordan (Steve).
