True Blood New Showrunner Revealed

As we reported back in February, Alan Ball will be stepping down as True Blood’s showrunner as the end of season five. And now Deadline has revealed the name of the man who will take over if the show is recommissioned for a sixth season (which seems likely).

The new showrunner will be True Blood’s current co-executive producer Mark Hudis. Hudis has been on True Blood since season four.

The two first met two decades ago working at trade publication AdWeek and they also previously worked together on the CBS comedy series Cybill, where they co-wrote several episodes during the 1997-98 season.

Hudis’s TV credits also include That ’70s Show and Nurse Jackie.

Ball will continue to be involved in True Blood on some level and is also executive producing new series Banshee for HBO sibling Cinemax.

True Blood season five starts on HBO in the States on 10 June, and will air later in the UK on FX.
