Chronicle’s Josh Trank To Direct Shadow Of The Colossus

Following the massive worldwide success of Chronicle, director Josh Trank’s name has been connected to everything from a Fantastic Four reboot and a Venom spin-off from Spider-Man to an adaptation of the comic Red Star. But now he has officially signed up to a project for Sony and it has nothing to do with comic books.
According to Deadline, Trank will develop and direct Shadow Of The Colossus, a big scale live-action adaptation of the monster-filled bestselling Sony videogame.
Set in a fantasy world the story is about young man who travels to a forbidden land to find a demon who can bring his dead lover back to life. But the demon will only do this if he slays 16 colossi – skyscraper-sized giants that rise from the ground, fly through the air and come from the water. But when the guy embarks on his mission he begins to question the wisdom of making a deal with the devil.
Trank is apparently a big fan of the game since it launched in 2005.
