Avengers Assemble Now 9th Most Lucrative Film Of All Time

Disney has revealed that Avengers Assemble has now earned more than Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland ($1,024.3 million) and Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace ($1,027 million) to become the 9th most lucrative film of all time in terms of worldwide box office. The film has grossed $1,036.2 million worldwide and was number one in the UK last week for the third week running.
On Tuesday, the Joss Whedon action adventure added $11.7 million internationally and $8.5 million domestically for a total of $20.2 million. The international gross to date is $646.8 million and domestic gross has reached $389.5 million, bringing the total to 1,036.3 million.
The movie should easily pass up the next three films on the all-time global list which are all three Disney films – Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides ($1,043.9 million), Toy Story 3 ($1,063.2 million) and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest ($1,066.2 million).
