BLASTERMIND Swinging ’60s
For some reason known only the the strange mind of Tim Burton, the new, big screen version of Dark Shadows is set in the ’70s despite the fact that the vast majority of the episode were originally made in the ’60s (it ran from 1966 to 1971). Even vampire Barnabas Collins (played by Johnny Depp in the film) first appeared in March 1967. Maybe Burton prefers Glam Rock to psychedelia?
But we’re sticking with the show’s ’60s roots for this week’s quiz, in which we’re asking you to name 10 films based on television from the ’60s (although, to be fair to you, one of them began life in the ’50s but was mostly aired in the ’60s and most people think of it as a ’60s show, and another only started in ’69 and is probably more of a ’70s show – okay, were as bad as Burton).
Usual request: Please don’t put answers in the comments section below (though feel free to use it to boast/bemoan how well/badly you’re doing) but the folks on this thread are quite happy for you to post and discuss answers if you follow the golden rule of only posting answers in invisible text (if you don’t know how ask somebody there – they’re very friendly).
