The Walking Dead Season 3: David Morrissey Is The Governor
“The Next Doctor” actor to play villainous character infamous from the comic
British actor David Morrissey (Doctor Who “The Next Doctor”, State Of Play, Blackpool) has been cast the major role of The Governor in season three of The Walking Dead.
The Governor, who made his debut in issue 27 of the original comic series, is also known as Brian Blake, and is the ruthless leader of Woodbury, a small settlement of survivors. He becomes the chief antagonist for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group, a bit like General Woundwort in Watership Down (wonder if that’s the first time The Walking Dead and Watership Down have been mentioned in the same story… anyone sensing a bet being made down the pub?)
The Governor will debut in The Walking Dead’s third season, which will be 16 episodes long and starts shooting in the spring.
The second season of The Walking Dead is currently airing in the UK on Fridays at 10pm on FX.
