New Blade Runner: Sequel Or Prequel? Even Ridley Scott Doesn’t Know
But he is mulling it over…
If you’re still a little confused about whether the new Blade Runner movie is a prequel or a sequel, don’t worry: there is no definitive answer to that question yet.
According to director Ridley Scott, speaking to EW, he still hasn’t made up his mind.
“We’re still in discussions about whether it should be a prequel or sequel,” says Scott. “It’s an interesting conversation. I’m meeting with writers and I’ve also gone back to Hampton Fancher and he still speaks the speak. He’s right there. I spoke with him this week. But we don’t even have a script yet.”
As to whether Harrison Ford might return as Rick Deckard, something that producer Andrew Kosove said was “highly unlikely” earlier this week, Scott is not quite so adamant.
“I’m not sure that that’s going to be a story point,” he says. “But if it were, nothing would please me more. Honestly.”
There’s still the chance the project may not even happen as Scott tantalisingly teases, “I’m also thinking about what the hell I might do for a Prometheus 2.”
As sequel to a prequel? What the hell do we call that? A sprequel?
