Roland Emmerich Creates Hellish Show For ABC
US network orders a drama pilot from the 2012 and Independence Day director
ABC has ordered an as-yet-unnamed fantasy drama pilot from Independence Day and 2012 director Roland Emmerich, according to Variety.
The plot will take place in New York against the backdrop of the 2012 presidential race, when a young astrophysics student learns his destiny lies not in the field of science, but somewhere between heaven and hell (that covers a lot of ground… Swindon maybe?).
Emmerich has written the script with his 2012 collaborator Harald Kloser and he will direct the pilot. Emmerich previously co-created the short-lived alien invasion TV series The Visitor in 1997.
