Ender’s Game Producers Want Harrison Ford
He’s one of their main choices for the role of Colonel Hyrum Graff
Asa Butterfield (Mordred in the BBC’s Merlin, Hugo) has confirmed on Twitter the rumour from a few days back: he has nabbed the lead role of Ender Wiggin in the big screen version of Orson Scott Card’s seminal SF novel Ender’s Game (via Coming Soon).
Meanwhile, Variety is reporting that the producers are trying to sign up Harrison Ford for the role of Colonel Hyrum Graff, though other undisclosed actors are in the frame. Graff is one of a manipulative big wig at the Battle School that trains youngsters for a war against an alien enemy, and who first realises what a tactical genius they have in Ender.
The film is set to be directed by X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s Gavin Hood.
