Default TV on DVD Bargains

In case anyone hasn't got the complete DVD sets of Buffy, the Australian (Region 2 + 4 so still playable on UK players) sets are currently £16.99 each (£13.99 for S1) from cd-wow. They're the cheaper style packaging and not the original UK book-style, but at that price who give a stuff?

Damn good bargain IMO, particularly as I paid top price for most of them when they were first released!! And if you want to flog your old VHS sets....why not put an advert in the back of SFX at slightly more than the price of the DVD's, I hear they sell like hot cakes!!!!

Yup, I've picked up seasons four, five and six plus season five of Angel... marvellous stuff. I should have thought to give the group the heads' up myself!

As for the packaging... I actually prefer the digipacks rather than those feckin' books. I like to be able to remove my discs without damaging them!

I picked up Season 1-4 for £12.99 each from DVD.co.uk a few years back and then just the other wek they were £14.99 on amazon. Its all a matter of just waiting as the price of TV boxsets yo-yo's around all the time

I prefer the cheaper packaging too. My sister has all 7 seasons in the more expensive versions, and apart from costing a fortune, they don't match because season 1 had that weird foldy-outy cross packaging. :?

'tis true!

These days it's just not worth buying a TV boxset when it comes out. You only have to usually wait a couple of months before the price drops dramatically. To be honest, without getting into a big debate (I know you love these Fullard...), NO DVD boxset is worth 50 quid etc...

Exactly....Especially if you are paying the same total a month for Sky in which case its only a matter of waiting. Thats what annoys me about Trek DVD's. If they were a more reasonable price I would buy all of them without hesitation but I will not pay £40-£50 for a DVD set.

Default buffy

Anyone able to answer this - been looking at the limited edition of the complete collection - anyone know where to get hold of this at a cheaper price???? And it looks like the Angel complete collection is due for a re-release in october - any ideas whether it will be any different or will it just be minus the joss whedon letter?

Thanks
Tony

How can we know if we can give you a cheaper price when you haven't told us what price you can get it at?

Cheapest I know of is Sendit.com, who do the Big Box o' Buffy for £119. This is the same as getting all seven seasons individually from CD-Wow (who are no longer doing the R1 versions for £13, BTW), but it looks cooler.

Too right. And I refuse to buy these half-season sets, too.

But have you seen the price of the Farscape complete seasoners? 100 freaking quid RRP! Even in a half-price sale they'd be over the odds! And all they've done is bung the individual disc releases in a box so it's not like they save shelf space!
BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA! You can get the all-in-one sets of Buffy & Angel for that!
