Mr Ed Returns, Pixar goes 3D re-release crazy, new Fringe trailer teases someone’s return, Spider-Man, Game Of Thrones, Doctor Who

Mr Ed Film In Development
Why the long face? Fox 2000 plans to bring the ’60s sitcom Mister Ed, about a talking horse, to the big screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The original series starred Alan Young as Wilbur Post, an architect who owns a talking horse, Mister Ed (voiced by Allan Lane) that spoke only to him, with hilarious consequences (well… ish). The new Ed will be a real horse with CGI lip movements. Does anybody have a good feeling about this?

Pixar Goes 3D Re-release crazy
With the success of The Lion King 3D – which has earned $80 million at the North American box office so far – Disney has announced that four more of its animated movies are also going to get the 3D treatment. New Fringe Trailer

Doesn’t exactly give much away, does it?

Terra Nova’s Second Week Ratings Remain Healthy
The new Steven Spielberg-produced time travel’n’dinosaurs show Terra Nova may have debuted on the US Fox network last week to solid, if unremarkable viewing figures, but the good news for the show is that it lost relatively few viewers for week two. 8.31 million viewers tuned in for the second week, down only about 8 percent from its debut. More importantly, it remained steady in the all-important 18-to-49-year-olds demographic (the ones advertisers like, because they spend the most). It’s a shame Fringe can’t get figures like that.

Avenging Spider-Man

November sees the release of The Avenging Spider-Man from Zeb Wells and Joe Madureira and Marvel has now unveiled a variant cover by Humberto Ramos… (via ComicBookMovie). The typically vague Marvel press release reads: “Marvel is pleased to present your first look at fan favorite Spider-Man artist, Humberto Ramos’s, lush variant cover to Avenging Spider-Man #1! The blockbuster creative team of Zeb Wells and Joe Madureira bring fans one of the biggest launches of 2011! Not only does this new ongoing series mark the return of Joe Madureira to comics, but also an entirely new chapter for the wall-crawler as he teams up with the biggest names of the Marvel Universe.”

Game Of Thrones Casts Dontos
According to BoomTron, British actor Tony Way has been cast as Dontos Hollard in season two of Game Of Thrones. Dontos is a knight at King’s Landing who befriends Sansa Stark (he was in the book A Game Of Thrones but had a small role and was cut from the first season). Way has had minor roles in Sherlock, Finding Neverland and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but is best known in the UK so far for a series of comedy and children series roles including Dick and Dom’s Funny Business, Mongrels (voice only, obviously) The Impressions Show, No Heroics (in which he was Praying Mantis) and Tittybangbang. He’s also written for loads of comedy shows too.
