Are You Ready For The Wicker Trilogy?

Looks like The Wicker Man is set to spawn two sequels

On the eve of the world premiere of The Wicker Tree at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal next month, director Robin Hardy has apparently revealed that the belated follow-up to the sublime British horror film, The Wicker Man (it’s only been a 38-year wait) will be followed by yet another sequel.

According to Bloody Disgusting, “Hardy’s in town kicking it with festival guests and fans, and has let loose that he begins filming a third film in the franchise next week. There’s no word on what the title will be, but come this time next year we’ll all be talking about The Wicker Man trilogy.”

There’s no title yet, so suggestions below please! (Hmm, how about The Wicker Cage – in which they burn a huge effigy of Nicolas Cage, in revenge for the remake?)

Bloody Disgusting also has a batch of new images from The Wicker Tree.

In the sequel, Young Christians Beth and Steve, a gospel singer and her cowboy boyfriend, leave Texas to preach door-to-door in Scotland . When, after initial abuse, they are welcomed with joy and elation to Tressock, the border fiefdom of Sir Lachlan Morrison, they assume their hosts simply want to hear more about Jesus. How innocent and wrong they are.

The film stars Christopher Lee and The Hobbit’s Graham McTavish (Dwalin).
