It’s Not Easy Being Green
Actor Michael Clarke Duncan turned up for an interview on Attack Of The Show, and brought along a clip of himself voicing Kilowog in Green Lantern.
Scrubs Star Going Over The Rainbow
Zach Braff, the man without whom Scrubs headed rapidly into Axeville, has joined the cast of Sam Raimi’s Wizard Of Oz prequel, Oz, The Great And Powerful, reports Deadline. Braff will play Frank, the loyal but under-appreciated assistant to Oz (James Franco), a charismatic circus magician who is treated as a powerful wizard after his balloon blows off course into Oz. Disney plans to release the 3D film March 2013.
Trek Star Cast In Total Recall
John Cho (Flash Forward, Sulu in Abrams’s version of Trek) is the latest actor to join the cast of the Total Recall demake. According to EW, he will play McClane, the smooth-talking rep for the mind-messing company that tempts Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell) to implant false memories of being a spy into his brain (or do they?).
Akira Loses Director
Deadline reports that director Albert Hughes (Book Of Eli) has left the live action remake of Akira, citing “amicable creative differences”. However, the article goes on to say that Warner Bros intends to keep the project on the fast track, and will be seeking a new director to replace him as soon as possible. And while we’re on the subject of directors leaving films…
Uncharted Loses Director…
David O Russell will no longer be directing Uncharted; Drake’s Fortune, the big screen version of the popular video game. However, rumours that he was hounded off the project by distraught Browncoats for not casting Nathan Fillion in the lead remain unfounded. Variety reports that, again, the reason is “creative differences” and also reckons that Mark Wahlberg and his one expression have also left the project. So, not all bad news, then.

Men In Black 3 Set Shots

Choose Your Own Adventure Classic Could Become A Movie
Remember those old Choose Your Own Adventure books, usually written by the legendary Ian Livingstone? The one’s where when you got to the end of a page, you were given question-based options of which page you wanted to turn to next, so that you could have a different adventure each time you read it? Everyone’s heard of The Wizard Of Firetop Mountain, surely? Well, another title from that series, Deathtrap Dungeon, about a group of slaves sent underground to fight, could be heading for the big screen. According to Screen Daily, Mark Holdom, Inc, a Los Angeles-based production and financing company, has brought the screenplay rights and wants to turn it into a franchise. And get this: Holdom’s vision for the franchise is, “a cross between Saw and Gladiator”. Not one for the kis, then?
