Clash Of The Titans 2, The Fallen, a dark Peter Pan, Amityville: The Legacy, Total Recall remake

Spaceship Falls In Russia
Ruairi Robinson, an Irish animator and director acclaimed for such sci-fi flavoured shorts as The Silent City (above) and the Academy Award-nominated Fifty Percent Grey is attached to direct sci-fi film The Fallen for Lionsgate UK and Harry Brown producer Kris Thykier. The $35 million film “is about an alien spaceship that crash lands in Russia. When it creates a 400-mile electronic dead-zone, international special ops teams are sent in to neutralise it.” The script is by Andrew Will (who’s also written Joseph Kosinski’s upcoming Archangel). The Fallen is expected to shoot in early 2012.

Sean Bean Is Smee In A “Dark” Peter Pan Makeover
Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Sean Bean (Sharpe) and AnnaSophia Robb (Soul Surfer) have all signed up to star in a radical makeover of Peter Pan for New Line/Warner Bros called simply Pan (which hopefully won’t be short for “down the…”). According to ScreenDaily, “Eckhart plays Hook reimagined as a tormented former detective on the trail of a childlike kidnapper. Robb will portray Wendy, the lone survivor who leaves an asylum to help in the hunt. Sean Bean has been cast as Smee, the chief detective and Hook’s only ally on the force.” At one point, Guillermo Del Toro was attached to direct, but now it’s animator Ben Hibon – who created the stunning cartoon sequence for The Tale Of The Three Brothers in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part One (right) who’ll be calling the shots.

Clash Of The Titans 2 Set Pics
Spanish website Tumba Abierta posted shots of the sets being constructed for Clash of the Titans 2 (which may or may not end up being called Wrath of the Titans) on the island of Tenerife. The sequel is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) for a spring 2012 release. Click on the link or the images to go to the site where there are loads more pictures.

The Amityville Legacy Lives On
Just what the world need – an Amityville Horror Reboot in 3D. Hannibal Pictures has announced plans to develop The Amityville Legacy 3D based on the book Amityville: The Evil Escapes by John G Jones, which has served as an inspiration for two of the previous sequels already (Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes in 1989 and Amityville: It’s About Time in 1992) but that probably doesn’t matter as only about eight people have ever rented them out from the video store. If you’re really interested, there’s a plot synopsis here.

Ethan Hawke To Cameo In Total Recall
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ethan Hawke (Gattaca) will be appearing in director Len (Underworld) Wiseman’s remake of Total Recall (you know, the one that’s dumping all that Mars stuff, and setting the story in the future states of Euromerica and New Shanghai). The nature of his role is being kept secret, but it will apparently be a cameo. Colin Farrell stars, with Bryan Cranston playing the villain; Kate Beckinsale (Wiseman’s wife) and Jessica Biel are in negotiations for the female leads.
