Doctor Who, Thor, Amazing Spider-Man, Akira, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

Final Consolidated Ratings For “Day Of The Moon”
The final consolidated ratings for Doctor Who’s “The Day Of The Moon” are now in (including the figures for those who recorded the show and watched it within a week), and there’s been another hefty time shift of 1.91 million, bringing the total to 7.30 million, reports DoctorWhoNews.net. The episode was also downloaded 1.2 million times on iPlayer in its first week.

Thor’s Thunderous Debut
Thor has thundered to the top of the US box office with takings of $66 million dollars in its first weekend. This figure, as Box Office Guru points out, was bolstered by 3D tickets prices, and in terms of bums on seats other Marvel films such as X-Men, The Hulk and Fantastic Four had better opening weekends. However, the film is performing magnificently in non-US territories and has currently taken £242 million worldwide, and hopefully the fact that it’s been getting great reviews will mean there won’t be a massive drop off next week at the US box office.

Spider-Man Set Pic Reveals Rhys Ifans as Dr Curt Connors
Twitterer J Anthony Hall has scored a bit of a scoop with the first image of Rhys Ifans as Dr Curt Connors, aka the Lizard, on the set of Amazing Spider-Man. Note that Ifans is wearing a “green glove”. As Connors only has one arm (it’s his experiments into trying to grow a replacement that causes him to become the Lizard) this would seem to suggest there’ll be some CG amputation involved, rather than just having him strap his arm behind his back. Keanu Reeves For Akira?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Keanu Reeves in the front runner to star in the US live action remake of anime classic Akira, to be directed by Albert (From Hell) Hughes. Reeves would potentially play the role of Kaneda, a member of a biker gang in a cyberpunk dystopia, although the article stresses that nothing has been signed yet.

Transformers 3 Already A Record Breaker
The latest trailer for Transformers: Dark Of The Moon has broken the record for the most viewed trailer ever on iTunes Movie Trailers according to Huliq.com. It was downloaded over 6 million times in the first 24 hours claims the article. The fact that initially it was an iTunes Movie exclusive clearly helped, but clearly people aren’t tiring of Transformers yet. Despite that second movie.
