Is There Going To Be A Big Role For A Female Vulcan In Star Trek 2?

An unlikely source reveals what may be a major plot point in JJ Abrams’s sequel

Is there going to be a big role for a vulcan female in JJ Abrams’s Star Trek sequel? Possibly, if an arcticle about the use of the iPad in Hollywood published in The New York Times is any indication.

In the article the journalist descibes how he was at a script meeting for the much-anticipated sequel, where scriptwriter Roberto Orci was using the hi-tech Etch-A-Sketch:

“Mr. Orci, meeting with the producers JJ Abrams, Damon Lindelof and Bryan Burk, and his fellow writer Alex Kurtzman, jump-started the discussion with an iPad slide show, showing stills from the first film, snapshots of potential locations and a photo of a suggested actress for one of the roles. On the woman’s photo, he had used his iPad to paint on a Vulcan ear.”

Very intriguing!
