The Dead: Special Video Preview

A great short film made by the creators of infamous ultra-low-budget zombie flick Colin to tie in with the release of Charlie Higson’s new horror novel. Not for those of a nervous disposition

Charlie Higson is a name that you usually associate with comedy, but there’s little to laugh about in his latest novel, The Dead. A bloody, uncompromising zombie-fest, it earned a four-star thumbs up in our SFX review. It’s the kind of “young adult” novel that “old adults” secretly like to read.

To whet your appetite, Higson has teamed up with the makers of Colin – the infamous £45-budget zombie film that made headlines last year – to produce a short film of the opening chapter in The Dead. In “The Scared Kid” a boy posts a webcam video to YouTube after a gruesome disease breaks out turning anyone over the age of 14 into the flesh-craving infected.
