Burton Regulars Sign Up To Voice Frankenweenie

Winona Ryder, Martin Landau and Martin Short among the cast

A whole host of familiar Tim Burton actors have signed up to provide vocal duties on a stop-motion animated remake of the director’s own 1984 short Frankenweenie, according to Deadline. Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands, Beetle Juice) will play Elsa, Martin Landau (Ed Wood) will play Mr Rzykruski, Martin Short (Mars Attacks!) will voice Bob, Nassor, Toshiaki, Victor’s Dad and Mr Bergermeister and Catherine O’Hara (Beetle Juice, A Nightmare Before Christmas) takes on Edgar, Weird Girl, Victor’s Mom, and Gym Teacher. With a script by John August, the film’s due to be released by Walt Disney on 9 March 9. The film is about a boy who, after his dog Sparky is killed in a car accident, decides to bring the mutt back to life, Frankenstein-style.
