Paranormal Activity Team Turns Its Attention To TV

The River will feature mock “found-footage” from a doomed Amazon expedition

Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli and Paranormal 2 screenwriter Michael R Perry are creating a TV show called The River for Dreamworks TV and ABC Studios, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Unashamedly riffing off of Paranormal Activity’s shooting style, The River is about the search for someone who went missing while on expedition down the Amazon, using the “found-video footage” format. Kind of Blair Witch meets The Creature From The Black Lagoon, then (in fact, wouldn’t it be great if the Gill Man did put in a cameo?).
