Are You Ready For An Eco Zombie Movie?

No, we’re not sure what that means, either, but that’s how they’re describing Barry (Rain Man, Sphere) Levinson’s latest movie

Seems that Hollywood veteran writer/director/producer Barry (Rain Man/Toys/Sphere) Levinson’s latest movie is an indie zombie flick. No, let’s clarify that – an indie eco-zombie flick. Not that that makes things much clearer.

Levinson has been working on the project a while now under the name Isopod (huh?*) but little was know about it. Now, according to Production Weekly, it’s had a name change to The Bay (meh!) and, according to Screen Daily, it will have a trendy mockumentary look, “told via a series of recordings on camera phones, 911 calls and other scraps of video as the town of Claridge, Maryland, is engulfed by chaos.” A zombie Cloverfield, then?

Paranormal Activity’s Oren Peli, Jason Blum and Steven Schneider along with Skyline and Insidious’s  Brian Kavanaugh Jones are acting as producers.

* Isopods, in case you were wondering, are peracarid crustaceans**, including such bugs as woodlice – creepy crawlers, then, not zombies. So, erm… huh?

** And anybody who doesn’t think we used Wikipedia to look that up – aw, bless.
