Third Rock star is cast as Mrs Van Helsing in Vamps, a movie about sexy, modern vampires in New York City

Third Rock From The Sun’s Kristen Johnston has been cast as Mrs Van Helsing in Vamps, writer/director Amy Heckerling’s movie about two young, beautiful, modern female vampires living the good nightlife in New York. The films stars Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter as the hedonistic two young bloodsuckers, with Sigourney Weaver as Cisserus, the matriarch of a vampire dynasty.

According to Coming Soon, Mrs Van Helsing is a posh British woman who is suspicious of her son’s new love interest in one of the vampires, Stacey (played by Ritter). Filming starts in Detroit next week, and the film is due to be released next year.
