Daleks Seen by 6.4 million
6.2 million viewers on BBC1 and 231,000 on BBC HD
“Victory Of The Daleks” has achieved overnight audiences of 6.2 million on BBC1 and a further 231,000 on BBC HD. That’s a slide down from last week, even despite the much-publicised return of the Doctor’s most famous enemies.
Doctor Who was also soundly beaten into second place for Saturday night, nearly four million viewers behind Britain’s Got Talent.
It’s still a good figure for a UK drama, and certainly not the lowest New Who has achieved, but it is slightly disappointing for such a hyped episode. The show does traditionally pick up massive amounts in time shift figures and on iPlayer, and the sunny weather no doubt had an effect, but in that case you’d have expected more people to catch up later on HD, but figures for that channel were down sognificantly as well.
Let’s hope the slide doesn’t continue, though if comments on the SFX forum are anything to go by, most viewers were not impressed with the episode.
