Alan Moore to team up with Gorillaz

In what could be one of the most interesting collaborations of recent years, comics legend Alan Moore is teaming up with the guys behind Gorillaz for their next opera. According to the Guardian, the Bard of Northampton will write the libretto for Damon “Blur” Albarn and Jamie “Tank Girl” Hewlett’s follow-up to their hit Monkey: Journey To The West show. No news yet on what it’ll be about – we’ve got our fingers crossed for Watchmen: On Ice – but whether or not it turns out to be SF (and given Moore’s eclecticism, the opera’s subject matter could be anything) we’ll be somewhere near the front of the queue.
