Why change the logo? The current one is perfectly good. Of course this might have been altered as to make money from t-shirts with the new logo. Why did I say might? Of course that's the reason. Ye olde cynical marketing ploy.

I hate this logo, it looks slapdash and inherently childish. Bloody rubbish, in fact.
Quite horrid.

Some good points. Overall, it's a refreshing change, and in the absence of much news at the moment, it's one of those things that we're all going to over-analyse and pick apart. Follow the link under my name for my own blog on the day it was revealed. :)

Those opposite serifs in "Doctor" and "Who" also help form the base and sign of the Police Box shape of the "DW" logo. Clever bit of design, that.

Interesting stuff John, especially the different serifs. I guess the logo had to change with all the other changes on the show, but David Tennant was so good as the Doctor, 'his' logo has become definitive in many people's eyes. The new one faces a challenge, as Matt Smith does.
