Ouch. I checked for accuracy on this as much as I could, and you've rightly pointed out that the master was screened more widely than suggested in my blog, though it's hard to track down what was and wasn't show in different regions back then, certainly in late night slots.

If my enthusiasm got in the way of the facts then I hold my hand up, as mentioned in the blog it was a hole in my knowledge, but who wouldn't get excited discovering a show where Lee Van Cleef is a ninja?

The Master was widely screened throughout the 80's in the UK - as shown above. Everyone wanted to be a ninja back then.

This is another thing wrong with these blogs. If SFX is going to give front page space to these entries, then the least the writer can do is check they are accurate.

The pilot of MOS was shown one Sunday (I think) on ITV in the 80s. I certainly remember it - quite fondly because it was one of the only original superhero-type shows at the time. I always thought that was it, just a pilot that never became a series.

The Master was shown at stupid o' clock up here in Scotland too. But was timed perfectly after stumbling home after a night out.
Lee Van Cleef and Pot Noodle before going into a drunken slumber.
Ahhh, great times.

A-ha. So they did actually get shown over here in some regions, just not in the coveted weekend evening slot. Shame about MOS chaps though.

yeah The Master was shown here in the Central region at stupid o'clock at night - same slot as V the Series, Alien Nation, Friday 13th the Series, The Highwayman and other shows I've since forgotten.

The pilot episode of Misfits Of Science got a video release and was a favourite in this household.

Anyone else remember Callahan? Starred Hart Bochner and Jamie Lee Curtis and was to Indiana Jones what Sledge Hammer was to Dirty Harry.

The Master was shown in t'North as well, in a late night slot on ITV.
My mum loved it!

They showed the Master in some late night slot on the regional telly but I can't remember if it was whilst I was in Devon or here in the midlands. From what I remember it was rather fun and even my Dad like it!

ahh Misfits of Science , many believe it was cursed, RTE (Irish Television) showed this Friday nights at 8pm , I thought it was brilliant from it's 80's opening sequence ( an onscreen television with a jazz singer singing the theme tune "Here come those misfits, misfits of science" being kicked in by an irate offscreen viewer....to it's parodys of certain 80's icons such as Miami Vice..sadly the show was cancelled but would not have survived long anyway with two of it's cast members dying within four years ,Kevin Peter Hall of Pnuemonia in 91 and it's lead Dean Paul Martin in 1987 when his Air national guard phantom Jet fighter crashed, on top of that Mark Thomas Miller who played the ultra cool Electically powered Johnny B suffering a Difiguring accident that ended his career in 1991.Courtney Cox must have felt spooked out for a couple of years.

80's TV memories primarily consist of cartoons as I was only born in 1982. Did you guys in the UK get My Pet Monster and Ewoks? :P

Fun blog to read, though. xxx
