Will Smith Goes Into Business With Sci Fi
Will Smith’s production company, Overlook Entertainment, is the make a pilot for Sci Fi called Unfinished Business. According to The Hollywood Reporter the show is a police procedural/SF hybrid about a cop who receives messages from the recently dead. AS if we need another one of those shows. The network plans to air “Business” as a two-hour movie that will also serve as a potential series pilot.
Flash Forward Could Be Flash Back
While on the subject of pilots, The Hollywood Reporter reckons there is a huge buzz about ABC’s new SF series, Flash Forward, and that a series is almost a dead cert. The show, starring Joseph Fiennes, is based on Robert J Sawyer’s novel, Flash, about the chaos that ensues after everyone in the world passes out for two minutes and 17 seconds, and has a mysterious vision of the future that changes lives forever. Fiennes will play Mark Banford, an FBI agent who is patching up his life and his marriage after winning a long struggle with the bottle. David S Goyer and Brannon Braga (oh dear, and it was sounding so promising until then) are among the executive producers.
Animal Magic
Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is prepping a big screen version of Mike Bullock’s comicbook Lions, Tigers and Bears, reports Variety. It will be a live action movie tons of CGI to recreate the tale of a bunch of stuffed animals that come alive at night. Toy Story meets Shoebox Zoo, then.
